  • Currently undertaking a PhD in Laser Spectroscopy in Welding Arcs

Research :
PhD Title: Laser Spectroscopy in Welding Arcs

Direction: This research makes use of a novel laser technique called Planar Laser Polarisation Spectroscopy. A high powered YAG based laser system is employed along with a dye laser. The desired outcome of this research is to be able to quantitatively detect unseeded elements in the welding arc and modify the concentration levels through reactive elemental additions.
